Wow Really!!

A truly fantastic team with 15 children and 2 grandchildren between them!

Experience

We have over 125 years experience of professionally looking after children.
All staff set good examples to the children and are consistent in their approach making our pre-school a stable and nurturing environment.

Ratios

The required government ratio is 1:8. We are registered to take a MAXIMUM of 26 children per session with 4 members of staff plus a leader we have a child / adult ratio of nearly 1:5!

Committee

St Ives Pre-school is run by a group of volunteer parents, we rely on fund-raising to run and welcome any help, support or spare time that parents can offer.

Key Worker

Each child is allocated a key worker who helps familiarise the child and feel confident and safe. The key worker will endeavour to develop a genuine bond with the child and the child's parents and offer a settled, close relationship. The key worker is responsible to meet the needs of each child in their care and respond sensitively to their feelings, ideas and behaviour.

Health & safety

We provide a healthy, safe environment for children and staff to work in; our health and safety policy is held at Pre-School and may be viewed anytime on request.

Since being permanently employed in my second year, I have achieved my qualifications alongside a first aid course, my SENCO training and various other trainings.
I have also, at my disposal, an art degree, which supports the artistic side to my career and the children.
My daughter was a former pupil at the pre-school and has since graduated into the junior years next door."
